Maternal Critical Theory invites readers into fresh encounters with characters, women writers, and other Maternal Critical readers. MCT draws from the goals of maternal thinking upon which all life is and has always been dependent. It is a further invitation to reinterpret canonical texts that have focused on the violence of power and missed the authority of maternal resistance. In truth, without these maternal characters, the texts would have disintegrated in our hands. Too often, not having had a method for retrieving these characters, we have missed them.
